Leslie Brooks recorded the "Hard to Hide" album when she broke into the best blues/jazz clubs while in Dallas. This CD is a compilation of some of her best works. She moved to Blacksburg in 2005. While enjoying the serenity/beauty of Virginia, she has created a state song for review and is performing in a tri-state area
Her conversation style is just as versatile as her singing voice, which has weaved effortlessly from country to jazz, from gospel to blues, from rock to 1940s three-part harmony in seven recorded albums of music during her career.
" A voice like suede"- Grammy award writer, Sandy Knox
Leslie possesses a wide vocal range filled with power, sensitivity, or playfulness. Ms. Brooks seems to tap the song's treatment from a deep well of experience; selecting its mood from the heart of the lyric... having earned the vocal control to keep the delivery flowing. A Kerrville Folk Festival Finalist.
